ANNEXE  1-1WHO WAS DORE ? (M.C.Doreswamy)Welcome: additiions/corrections-Mail Back : M.C.Doreswamy Dore  has been very active in life throughout, born in the Princely State of Mysore and completed engineering graduation(elect) at Bangalore Govt. College in 1946, married in 1946. During school and college education, life has been hectic: being a member of Indian National Congress, had a close contact with Pandit Jawarharlal Nehru's activities, movement with Mahatma Gandhi- father of Nation, participation in Quit India struggle in 1942 and enjoyed prison life as a political prisoner at Bangalore. Some  photographs taken by the author at Bangalore during 1942 are shown at  annexe1-2. .This also includes one photograph of Engineering colleagues in College, who are spread over with their families  in different parts of the world. It may be injustice if no mention is made about a very close friend and Volley Ball partner, Mr. A.Sivaswamy  Some shots of his and  family  are also exhibited.. One of the Quit India Movement photographs is that of  Mr.C.F.Andrews, chairing  a public meeting.Mr.Andrew's face is not clear because of the sky background. Another one is during picketing in front of the Medical School at Bangalore during the examination, when the hearty Inspector of General of Police,Mr.Win trampled on the picketers with his heavy shoes. Sorry for him , he was no more existing the next day. Once during our procession in front of College, Government moved in cavalry to disburse us. The public their immediately gave us mustard  to be spread on road, on which horses use to slip. The cavalry was withdrawn. The author did not claim  any freedom fighter benefits from Indian Government as a policy expected of us. On sports, captained the State Volley Ball team for Olympics. As a professional engineer, worked for Govt. Elect. Dept. (British Govt.) at Madras. Then switched over to State Electricity Board of Gujarat State and took voluntary retirement after 22 years of service: worked in Home Guards (in Gujarat)- a Para Military Force- being also in charge of a small armoury. During Home Guard service took active part in assisting Govt. during all India Railway ( labour) strike. Later served reputed Consulting Engineering firms like, Tatas, Fichtner etc. in India and abroad as consulting Engineer, mainly on Power Projects. Professionally qualified as Fellow member of Institution of Valuers, Professional(Corporate) Engineer of The Institution of Engineers, India, and Govt of India Certified Valuer for Plant and machinery.
